Atlantic Coast and Brittany
Beaches, Dunes and Forest…
France’s Atlantic coast – from Brittany to the Landes via the Charentes area – has a special appeal; towns and landscapes are as varied as it‘s possible to be:
- The Atlantic Ocean: a gigantic mass of water rocked by the waves and the tides
- The Dunes: a fragile relief constantly in motion
- The Forest and the Beaches: best grounds for sports, pleasure and relaxation
Brittany: In the north, this region is famous for its megalithic monuments, the gulf of Morbihan (one of the most beautiful bays in the world), the walled city Saint Malo and its many beautiful islands. Whether as a family or among friends, enjoy an unforgettable moment in Brittany with its “Fest Noz”?, traditions and many culinary specialities including “crepes”, cider and “kouign amman”.
Charentes Maritimes: this area is surrounded by the departments of Gironde, Charente, Deux-Sèvres, Dordogne and Vendée, it includes the islands of Île de Ré and Ile d’Oléron. During the summer months, families flock from all over Europe to bask in the sun, enjoy the coast and enjoy the local seafood including oysters which cultivated here and shipped across Europe.
Landes: this area is part of the Aquitaine region and is surrounded by the French departements of Gironde, Lot-et-Garonne, Gers, and Pyrénées-Atlantiques, as well as the Atlantic Ocean on the west. It is well known for the Côte d’Argent beach which is Europe’s longest, and attracts many surfers to Mimizan and Hossegor each year. The huge maritime pine forest offers a wealth of discoveries including horse riding, cycling and hiking trails.

Provence is a wonderful region of southern France close to the Mediterranean sea. This region lies between the mountains and the sea, stretching from the Mercantour National Park to the Rhone river delta and from the Barre des Ecrins to the Marseille calanques. There are 3 main types of landscapes:
- The Provence: the heart of Provence is in the hills that binds the sea to the alps. These are vineyards, the cultivated lands and the colourful scenery that charmed Van Gogh
- The Mediterranean seaside: the Cote d’Azur, the famous French Riviera which stretches from Hyeres to Menton receives a large and rather affluent tourist clientele
- The Alps: skiing one hour from the seaside is possible! The Alpes d’Azur rise high above Nice up to 4,000 meters
The region has a spectacular coastline, beautiful sunshine, azure-blue sea, rich historical heritage and many “chic”? and trendy towns. Warm friendships and festivities, lively cultural life, in Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur, there is place in the sun for everyone.
